About Workstride
Workstride is case management software for Inclusive Employment Australia providers, built on a small set of principles that do not change as the product grows.
Workstride is being built for accreditation by DEWR as a Third Party Employment System. It is not yet accredited.
Principles
- Participants and employers see your brand. Your portal, jobs board, emails and SMS carry your organisation's name, colours and web address, not ours.
- ESS Web stays the record. Workstride works beside ESS Web, which stays the Department's system of record. It does not write results, notes, claims, exits or calendar entries into ESS Web.
- Onshore, as a rule. Our rule keeps Workstride's hosting, backups, logs, support tooling and AI processing in Australia (Deed 42.3(b)).
- One product, for every provider. Every provider runs the same product on the same standard terms. What one provider asks for goes into Workstride for everyone, never into a private version.
- Accessibility from the typeface up. The site and the product are built around Atkinson Hyperlegible type, visible focus and keyboard access, not added at the end.
- Candour about status. Every product claim carries a status, nothing unbuilt appears inside a working product screen, and every gate between Workstride and your participants is named.
Who operates Workstride
The most honest answer today: the entity that will operate Workstride has not been formed yet.
Workstride's operating entity is undecided. Once it is settled, we will publish its name, its Australian Business Number and how to contact it here, in our privacy policy and in our terms, and say plainly whether any Inclusive Employment Australia provider holds a stake in it. We will not describe Workstride as an Australian-owned company before that is settled and true.
Independence and data walls
Providers compete for participants, so we build as if a provider will ask exactly how we keep their records away from a competitor. Full detail on Who can see your data.
-
Onshore, as a rule
Our rule: Workstride's hosting, backups, logs, support tooling and AI processing stay in Australia, as the IEA Deed requires. Our rule is no access to provider data from outside Australia, including by our own support staff. We are finalising our hosting provider.
-
A database for each provider
Each provider's records sit in their own database, reached through a database account that has no access to any other provider's database. Automated tests check that records, files and senders cannot cross from one provider to another.
-
Notes that keep their stamp
Every file note carries a date, time and user stamp. Notes cannot be edited or deleted in Workstride; corrections are saved as revisions beside the original.
-
Your Security Contact decides
Nothing is granted by default, and nobody's access starts until their Department privacy training is recorded. Support access needs your Security Contact's approval, and every step appears in your access log.
-
An assistant that stays off
Switched off until you turn it on. Features that read participant data stay locked until your organisation records the Department's written approval, and a person reads and edits every draft.
-
Your records leave with you
Any list exports to CSV today. A full export of all your records and documents, in the same format imports use, is planned.
Designed with input from people who work in employment services
Workstride is designed with input from people who work in employment services. We do not point to any one provider as the reason Workstride exists, because Workstride is not built for or with any single organisation: it is one product, configured per provider, with no private versions.
Note
No Inclusive Employment Australia provider is using Workstride yet, and none is named as a founding, design or reference provider. Read more on Help shape Workstride.
